Lucky Again

In all the rush leading up to Christmas, I almost forgot to show you these. I won another drawing recently, this one from Abbie, of Whimsy of a Staggering Artist. Two beautiful icicle tree ornaments, made from vintage buttons -- aren't they great?

They arrived beautifully wrapped in a piece of old sheet music, tied with a festive red ribbon and adorned with a glittering snowflake and a darling gift tag. So pretty!

If you don't know Abbie, please take a minute to visit her beautiful blog -- you'll be so glad you did. And dear Abbie, thank you so much; I love my new icicles!

BTW, does anyone else have that wonderful upper respiratory virus that's going around? My daughter got it on Christmas Eve, and now I've got it. It's one of those post nasal drippy things -- my nose is perfectly clear, but it feels like there's a wad of phlegm the size of a golf ball in my throat. MITIN? Sorry.
Here's me going to bed at night: Long underwear top, fleece pj's and hiking socks because I'm always cold, eye-cover mask thingy because the tiniest bit of light wakes me up and I can't get back to sleep, and a big box of tissues next to the bed. Every ten minutes, throw off the covers (hot flash!) sit up, grab a tissue, hoick-ptooie. My husband is a saint.

  1. At first I thought they might be earrings, and yes, I'd probably wear button earrings! Those icicles are beautiful and the wrapping makes the gift that much more special. Sorry to hear you've caught a nasty bug. Stay in your P.J.'s and have a hot toddy.

  2. Mary,

My friend in California and her husband have this apparently well- traveled virus. Take care of yourself and keep the bug in New Jersey please.

  3. Oh, the icicles are just wonderful and the wrapping is awesome.
So sorry you are sick and, yes, several of us in our family have it, too. Nothing that makes one feel really sick...just ROTTEN!
    Hope you feel better soon!
    hugs, bj

  5. Love those icicles. How creative. Hope you feel better real soon. My daughter has the same thing. Try some boiling water and put a lemon slice in it. She loves it and it seems to help with the phelm. All my best. Happy new Year. janie

  16. Those are beautiful! Abbie is very creative.

Hope that you are feeling better by morning.

Here I thought that I was going to make an early night of it and instead it appears that I will actually see 2008 in.

  17. HI Mary! Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog! Great to have you.

What a beautiful drawing you won!

My hubby, mom and dad had the dreaded disease you speak of. It has had mercy on me for some odd reason. (I get EVERYTHING). I've been having crazy sinus problems and am currently on drugs to help with that. Maybe my sinuses are so super clear from all the sinus sprays and the "bug" didn't have a place to call "home"! :-) Well hope you feel better soon.

    Have a Happy New Year!!

  18. Happy New Year Mary! I wish you and your family a wonderful 2008. Sorry to hear that you and your dd have been sick, I hope it clears quickly sweetie!
