Mosaic Monday: Happy Summer

My husband and I had a wonderful little jaunt to northwestern Connecticut this weekend.  We visited some beautiful open gardens, which I will start to share with you next week.  In the meantime, I have a little celebration of summer for you today.  I know that I missed the official first day of summer, but I picked this little bouquet last week, and couldn't resist taking a few pictures.  When I was little, I loved picking wildflowers for my mother, and even all these years later, wildflowers still say "summer" to me.   Happy summer, dear bloggers!

Mosaic Monday: Rose Garden

When my friend Toni and I went to see the Monet exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden last month, we were thrilled to discover that the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden was in full bloom.  Here are just a few of the many, many photos I took that afternoon.  Click on the link to see a photo of the entire garden from above.  It is an amazing place to visit on a sunny afternoon -- the air is filled with perfume and the drone of happy insects. :)

Mosaic Monday: Monet at Giverny

First of all, I want to thank everyone who left comments of love and prayers and support for me last week.  You cannot know how much your thoughts and prayers meant to me.  Thank you!

My father-in-law passed away on Sunday, June 3rd, surrounded by his loving family.  We spent the week connecting with family and friends.  It was an emotionally draining few days.  I think my husband and his siblings are starting to recover, though.  Little by little...

I just have a few photos from the Monet exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden.

No Mosaic Monday

There will be no Mosaic Monday this week due to an illness in my family.  My father-in-law is at the end of a long battle with cancer, and we are spending his last days together.  Please come back on Sunday, June 10th.   Thank you so much for your understanding.  xoxo
